Suitable for beginners as well as more experienced writers, Lakeland Writing Retreats seek to inspire writers in the beautiful Lake District landscape where the great Romantic poets and so many other writers were inspired in their turn.
Angela Locke holds an MA in Creative Writing, and has facilitated many successful writing workshops, notably on Iona and in the English Lake District. She is a novelist, travel writer, children's writer and journalist, often using the Lake District, where she now lives, as the background for her books, an experienced Creative Writing tutor leading Writing Retreats across the UK and in France.
The Retreat will be based at Rydal Hall, set in the splendour of the Lake District National Park, in the heart of the fells. Rydal Hall is an historic country mansion a few yards from Wordsworth's family home, with stunning grounds designed by Thomas Mawson. There will be a chance to explore other special places in the heart of the English Lake District.
First bookers will have a chance to stay at Rydal Hall, where workshops will take place doing the day, and all our evening meals will be taken there.
Angela will this year be assisted by author and Creative Writing tutor David Clemson MA. Early morning yoga is also offered for beginners and improvers by top yoga teacher Alicia Lester.
